The Local - Mt VictoriaThe Mt Victoria Residents’ Association has celebrated a small but significant victory with the arrival of a public seat on Earls Terrace.
The Association held a ‘seat warming’ to officially open the seat.
Association president Ellen Blake said the prompt for the new seat came from a local resident who said she would love to be able to take a break when walking home up Majoribanks Street.
MVRA launched a petition for the seat and worked with Wellington City Council contractors on location and design.
“As a Residents’ Association we really want to see more seating that supports particularly older people but all sorts of people who like to have a sit. Especially in such a nice spot as this one which is a sunny, cosy and interesting place to sit.”
